Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
- Identity and contact details. Name, date of birth, nationality, identity document, likeness photo, address, email, and mobile number.
- Account and device. Sign-in records, device identifiers, app version, IP address, and the language you choose.
- Transactions. Balances, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, conversions, card transactions, fees, and the payment details connected with a transaction.
- Business records. Company details, ownership and control, and the identity of authorised users and cardholders.
- Checks. Identity and sanctions screening results, information about the purpose of funds, and documents you upload.
- Support. Messages you send us and our replies.
Upload identity documents in the app. Please do not send photographs of identity documents by ordinary email.
2. How we use it
- to open and run your account, and to process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, remittance, conversion, and card spending;
- to verify your identity and to carry out anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions checks;
- to prevent fraud, authorise card payments, and help with questions about a transaction;
- to send transaction notices, account updates, and notice of changes to the terms;
- to keep the app reliable;
- to respond to a regulator, court, card network, or law-enforcement authority when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Why we process it
Where data-protection law applies, we process information to provide the service you use; to meet anti-money laundering and other legal duties; to keep accounts and payments secure, where that need is not overridden by your rights; and, where we ask separately, to send notices you can turn off. You may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, or information we must keep for another reason.
4. Who we share it with
- partners who provide your card, settlement, deposit, withdrawal, or conversion, limited to what they need to perform that service and meet their own legal duties;
- identity, sanctions, and fraud screening providers;
- card networks and the merchant, when you make a card payment;
- vendors who host our systems under contract and may process information only on our instructions;
- advisers who provide audit, legal, or other professional advice;
- authorities and other financial institutions when a law, court order, or regulatory report requires disclosure.
5. International transfers
Partners and vendors may be outside your country. Where information is transferred across borders, we use a safeguard recognised by applicable law. The institution that processes a particular payment is the one shown in the app.
6. How long we keep it
We keep information while your account is in use. After the account is closed or a transaction is complete, records that anti-money laundering rules require us to keep are retained for at least five more years. If a dispute, investigation, or legal duty is still open, the related records are kept until it ends. We then delete the information or remove the identifiers.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and sign-in checks, and we log internal access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please protect your device and sign-in details. If you believe someone else has used your account, contact service@locopay.io.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and complain to a data-protection authority. A deletion request does not remove records the law requires us to keep. We will explain why something cannot be deleted. Send requests to service@locopay.io. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you.
9. Children
Loco Pay is not available to anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we will close it, apart from records we are required to keep.
10. Updates
When we update this policy, we post the new version on this page and change the date above. Where a change materially affects you, we also notify you in the app or by email if the law requires it.
